ARMEDANGELS is one of the most renowned names for sustainable women's fashion in the German-speaking world – and for good reason. Since its founding in 2007, the Cologne-based brand has consistently worked to combine fair production conditions and ecologically responsible materials under one roof. What this specifically means, which certifications are truly behind it, and which pieces we particularly like at HIT-IN.TV – you'll find out here.
What distinguishes ARMEDANGELS from other brands
Many fashion labels talk about sustainability today. ARMEDANGELS proves it. The majority of the collection consists of GOTS-certified organic cotton – this means that not only is the raw material organically grown, but the entire production chain, from fiber to finished seam, is audited according to strict social and ecological standards. The GOTS seal is one of the most demanding in the textile industry; if you want to learn more about what it means in detail, you can find a comprehensive explanation in our guide to sustainability certifications.
In addition to organic cotton, ARMEDANGELS relies on other certified materials: Lenzing EcoVero viscose (a closed production process that uses significantly less water and chemicals than conventional viscose), wool with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), and recycled materials according to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). No greenwashing, but verifiable certifications – that's the difference.
Materials you feel on your skin
Anyone who touches ARMEDANGELS clothing for the first time will notice: This isn't the usual fast-fashion feel. The organic cotton is processed softer and smoother because no aggressive chemicals are used in the dyeing process. This also has a practical advantage: the colors remain intense longer, and the fabric loses its shape less quickly after washing.

For the wool pieces of the collection, RWS certification means that the sheep whose wool is processed are kept in a species-appropriate manner – an aspect that is still too often ignored in the fashion industry. The merino wool sweaters from the ARMEDANGELS collection, such as the Suri Inariaas Light made from 64% organic wool and 36% mohair, exemplify this commitment.
Our favorite ARMEDANGELS pieces
It's hard to pick just a few – but these are the pieces we at HIT-IN.TV always recommend:

Idaara T-Shirt (from €29) The most underrated basic in the collection. 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, a fit that really works, and a color palette from Emerald Green to Dynamo Blue to classic white. If you're looking for a T-shirt that looks just as good after 50 washes as it did on day one, this is it.
Barrel Leg Twill Pant (€119) The pants for those who can't get enough of wide cuts. 98% organic cotton with 2% elastane for freedom of movement, baggy fit, available in grey and camel. Combined with a simple long sleeve, this makes a complete everyday outfit.
Iconic Å Francisaraa Sweat (from €75) The sweater that shouldn't be missing from any wardrobe. Loosely cut, made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, in calm colors like Misty Morning or Rosalilly. Warm enough for cool spring days, light enough for transitional weather.
Bryanaa Triangle Scarf (€79) A scarf made from 50% organic wool and 50% recycled wool – both certified according to RWS and GRS. Triangular cut that can be worn in many ways: around the neck, as a shoulder scarf, or tied to a bag.
LARISAANA Blouse (from €59) Made from Lenzing EcoVero viscose – flowing, light, and made for warmer days. The cut is feminine without being obtrusive. Available in three colors: Mars Red, Dark Blue, and Pink.
You can find the complete collection in our ARMEDANGELS shop.
Who is ARMEDANGELS the right choice for?
ARMEDANGELS is not a niche brand for purists. The collection is aimed at women who want to be well-dressed without compromising on transparency. Prices are in the mid to high range – a T-shirt starts at €24, pants cost between €49 and €139 – and reflect fair wages and high-quality materials. Once you understand what a GOTS seal entails, you also understand why this price is fair. We explain more about ecological materials in fashion in a separate article.
The fits are deliberately kept suitable for everyday wear: no extreme cuts, no fashion expiration date. This is intentional. A Barrel Leg Pant that fits just as well in three years as it does today is more sustainable than ten trendy pairs of pants.
FAQ
Where is ARMEDANGELS produced? ARMEDANGELS primarily produces in Europe and in selected factories in India and other countries that adhere to strict social standards and are regularly audited. The brand is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation.
What exactly does GOTS-certified mean? GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard. The seal not only verifies the organic cultivation of raw materials but also the working conditions throughout the entire production chain – from fiber to packaged goods. It is one of the strictest textile certifications worldwide.
Is ARMEDANGELS also suitable for vegan customers? Yes. The majority of the collection carries the PETA-Vegan-Approved seal. Pieces with wool are clearly marked and are the exception.
How does ARMEDANGELS clothing fit in terms of size? The brand tends to fit European-normal. For sweats and sweaters, the cut is often loose and deliberately oversized – if in doubt, it's worth checking the product description or sending us a short message.
Can I machine wash ARMEDANGELS clothing? Most organic cotton items are machine washable at 30–40 °C on a gentle cycle. Wool items such as scarves and sweaters should be washed on a wool program at a maximum of 30 °C or by hand.
