France in the 60s, a picnic in the countryside, a gingham tablecloth – this image is somewhere in the DNA of this scarf, only completely reinterpreted. Instead of cotton: 73% mohair. Instead of checks: fine red stripes with astonishing volume and a softness you'd hardly believe possible. The technique behind it comes from La Rioja and dates back to the 15th century, when mohair was still hand-processed with teasels – a method that still provides the characteristic, warming fluffiness today. The fringes at the ends are also handmade and give the scarf its finishing touch.
Made in a family business in Ezcaray, Spain.
